Jams all the time. I called Canon and was told it needed 24lb paper to operate correctly. The heavier duty paper helps but it still jams and it costs a lot more. A definite DO NOT BUY.

When sending a one page fax, paper needs to be pushed through for feeder to catch on. When trying to fax multiple pages (though it says can handle 50 pages) get error codes that paper is too long. This is the first fax machine (and we've had several, other Canon's included) that we have had so many problems with. I am replacing it.

I wouldn't recommend this fax machine-it has wasted time & caused an earful from co-workers. We replaced the first one we had after 4-5 months because papers wouldn't pull half the time. You'd have to give them a push then several pages would go thru at once. The replacement we now have is having the same problem now again after 4-5 months. I troubleshot w/a Canon rep but cannot get the problem fixed. Also, you cannot cancel a fax if it is in between redials. Everything else seem to work ok but the paper feeding issue ruins it for EVERYONE in the office!

This machine gets the job done. We find construction to be someone flimsy and noisy. A disappointment for us is there is no "message" confirming that fax has been sent. There is a flashing light that merely stops when transmission is complete but no confirmation msg how many pages were sent.
